This animation shows the working components of the device. As each CMG reaches the 270 degree point of its rotation, the clutch mechanism engages and counterclockwise torque is momentarily transmitted down the connecting shaft (as shown by the arrows). Multiple-balanced CMG versions without eccentric imbalancing problems are illustrated in other animations.
